Video Transcript for Review of Air Lift Vehicle Suspension - Rear Axle Suspension Enhancement - AL83DQ

Hello, neighbors, I'm Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at these Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL Ultimate Air Helper Springs for your rear axle. Now, folks, these are a custom fit application. They do fit a 2023 through 2024 Ford F-350 Super Duty four-wheel drive. Always make sure you check your year, make, and model in our fit guide etrailer.com. Make sure you're get in the right parts the first time as parts do change over time and this video may be outdated, who knows Now I wanna mention that these also come with a internal jounce bumper.

I'll throw a graphic up there on the screen for you. That's gonna help prevent damage when driving with either an underinflated or an uninflated airbag. So that little rubber jounce stopper inside of that white thing you see there, that's gonna help keep everything protected and safe in the event of an uninflation. Now, folks, these will provide your vehicle with up to 7,500 pounds of load leveling support. Now by load leveling, we simply mean you're not adding this kind of trailer weight capacity to your vehicle.

Your vehicle's only rated for what it was made for at the factory. These are just assisting that. Now they do buy that, they do help reduce strain on your rear suspension, they improve both the safety and ride quality, and they're very nice, big seven inch diameter compared to some of the five inch ones that are out there, like the LoadLifter 5000s, for example. Now that's gonna offer a greater leveling strength at a lower air pressure. So you shouldn't have to inflate these as much as the other ones out there.

Now they're also gonna keep your vehicle level when you're hauling a heavy load, improve steering, braking performance, and also maintain that safe headlight aim. So we've all put something in the truck or SU or whatnot and you're squatting the rear and that's pushing the headlights up. These will pump you back up to level and assist with that drive. So that in turn is gonna help keep the tires from wearing unevenly. You can also manually adjust either the left or right, or vice versa, independently.

So let's say you have like maybe a camper in the bed of the truck or maybe a salt spreader or who knows what, some farm implements, and you want one side to be a little stiffer than the other. You can certainly do that with these as well. I'm gonna zoom in so you can see these a little better. I've mocked these up, so keep that in mind. Everything's loose fitting. Obviously, these brackets and everything will be over the axle, attached to the frame, that kind of stuff. Now these, again, will level the vehicle front to rear and you can inflate each spring, like I said, independently. And what they're gonna do also is diminish sway. They'll help absorb road shock. They'll give you that smoother ride on bumps and potholes, that kind of stuff. And they do come with what's called the Air Lift's exclusive upper and lower roll plates, and that's gonna increase the lower capacity of the air springs themselves. Now those also protect the springs from damage, thus, extending the life of your air spring suspension as well. Now the bags themselves are constructed of a two-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber, while the endcaps that are covered here by these round plates here. The endcaps are actually a high-quality-strength Zytel nylon, which is lighter, stronger, and corrosion-resistant compared to steel. Now let's talk about mounting brackets, hardware. Those are included. I wanna pop up a graphic here. Start at the top left, so you notice that that bracket is longer than the one on the right. So it is a left to right custom fit. So keep in mind, read the instructions, make sure you're putting 'em on the right side. Everything should line up. You see those holes there in those brackets, they should match right up to your frame's hole. Should be a pretty simple install. It might be a little tedious, time-consuming just 'cause there's a lot of little bolts and stuff. One thing I noticed when I was putting these together just for mocking 'em up here today was that there's some bolts you can't see in that picture that are kind of hidden and they kind of come up from the bottom and from the top down of these different plates, and you have to put them on before you attach the brackets to the airbags themselves. So just follow the instructions and you shouldn't have any problem. The rest of the hardwares you see in that photo, you get the airline, just like I got here on the table, and all the nuts bolts and that kind of stuff. So I just wanted to show you a graphic of that because I've got stuff put together and used and then I've got stuff laid out, and I wanted to kind of keep the angle where I got it. So it's kind of hard to see some of that other stuff in there. So you also get a heat shield, that's that flat metal guy down there. Sometimes you'll need to put that around the muffler or something to protect the bag depending on the location. Now, like I mentioned, the manual inflation valve and airline, it's all included. The compressor system, if you want, or end gauge, endcap gauge, that stuff's sold separately. So you can hook this up to like a wireless compressor, a wired compressor, in-the-cab remote control system, all that, we sell that here at etrailer.com. You're more welcome to purchase that separately. Pretty much, all those are compatible with each other, but just read all the specs to make sure. These are compatible with most fifth wheel and gooseneck hitches. They're made here in the U.S.A. And you do have to keep five PSI minimum in these guys, but you can go up to 100 if needed. Again, with these being bigger bags, you probably won't have to put that much PSI in it. You're probably gonna be surprised, actually. They have a nice lifetime warranty. And the manual inflation valves I was mentioning, those usually get mounted on the back bumper for easy access. Now here at etrailer, we typically put one on the left side of the license plate and one on the right, but depending on the vehicle, the year, the location, that might not be an option. We just find that kind of helps keep everything looking nice and neat and smooth. There's also brackets you can purchase separately where you can put those Schrader valves on a bracket underneath the bumper if you so choose. So lots of options, folks. Well, I think it's gonna wrap it up for our look at these big Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XLs. I'm Steve with etrailer.com. Thank you so much for watching and have a great day.

Instant improvement! Recommend this for any heavy duty truck as a daily driver. I can’t rate the hauling difference due to only recently installing the helper springs.

by:

Giving 4 stars because of packaging box had holes in it and all brackets were just thrown in box
I bought these for my 2018 F250 to pull 42ft sundowner toy hauler. They work great install little confusing on which way to slide them but there enough videos to figure it out.
I wasn’t going to buy compressor at 1st but glad I did. We took 1st trip in it this weekend and being able to adjust air for tanks empty to full is nice. Even riding with no load seems to ride better
Contact me few months down the road and let’s see how impressed I am

Shipping was fast. Install was easy (once I removed the spare tire). Just follow the guide step by step. I haul 8000-10000 pounds in a 14 foot dump quite often. My truck would squat 6-7 inches. NOT ANYMORE. With about 65 psi I have a level ride. Much better handling. Great product. I should have bought years ago.

I have not towed anything yet. I pull a 42' 5th wheel RV and from what everyone tells me, these bags make a huge difference. I'm full time living in an RV so I don't have a shop or all the tools that would have made this a bit more easy. First of all, unless you have a lot of time and patience, this is a tough job for one person. Do yourself a favor and get an air socket wrench. This would cut down on install time considerably. I don't remember the size, but if you have a dually like I do, have a set of ratcheting box end wrenches. Thankfully, the guy helping me had a set and I don't know how we would have done one of the brackets without it. Watch some youtube videos for some helpful hints. Go to the manufacturers website for videos. Read through the directions a couple times first. Especially pay attention to the specifics of Left and Right, and sway bar or no sway bar. The directions aren't horrible, but they aren't great either. Divide your hardware, put them in zip lock bags and label them, using the parts list in the front of the book. Also, have a breaker bar on hand. My buddy and I had never installed these before. Neither of us are certified mechanics, but have a pretty good understanding of mechanics and we know how to turn a wrench. This install took us about 6 hours (note, this does not include the hour or so that I spent putting the bags together on a previous day). To raise and lower, we used a bottle jack under the rear hitch. You don't need to raise it off the ground, but you need to get it as high as you can without going off the ground. I will try to come back and add my 2 cents on the performance aspect after we head out with the RV.
As always, etrailer was very helpful and I had a speedy delivery.

This is my second Air Lift 7500XL purchase from Etrailer. Each time the and (actually) everything I've purchased here has been great and the experts that have helped along the way have been top-notch. I highly recommend the Air Lift 7500XL bags, I had them on a 2008 Silverado 2500HD extended cab, and my current truck, 2008 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab. I haul a 20' double axel steel livestock trailer and slide-in truck camper. My family shows livestock and the air lift system handles it all great.

I recently made a big order for my new Dodge Ram to pull our new Grand Design fifth wheel. Level of customer service amazed me. There was one small item that was not delivered and I actually received a call from someone who is involved in shipping it. It was taken care of quickly and everyone at etrailer bends over backwards to help. Really great company.

by:

Air bags and compressor work excellent. Supports the pin weight of our 34ft SMC Horse trailer with no issues on the Chevy 2500 HD Duramax.

Easy install on both bags and compressor.

Great product and great service from the team at etrailer.

by:

Excellent service and super fast shipping. Etrailer is awesome to deal with! Installation was fairly straightforward and easy. Airbags seem to be of very good quality.

by:

Got My Order right away, everything was intact, no damage. I had watched some install videos online which helped with the instructions. Had to make minor alterations, one was the cut out for the axle vent tube which was mentioned in the instructions, the other was to cut off the corner of the top mount to give clearance to the exhaust shown by the red arrow in photo. I'm sure not every exhaust is exactly in this position, but mine was, not a big deal. This install was on a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 4WD.

by:

Etrailer was excellent in pricing, shipping and product information. Great product once installed. The top bolts from frame to air bag are a SOB to get lined up. If Air lift just put some tabs on the bag and holes in the top support to line things up it would be a few minute project, not the hours spent trying to get the 4 upper bolts in. Love the performance once installed. Very helpful in windy conditions in stabilizing ride. Thanks once again etrailer for being by far the best in all ways.

by:

I installed the air lift system and could not be happier. The truck now rides very smooth even with a heavy load. Great product addition to my truck.

by:

Have dealt with e trailers on many occasions never disappoint with their customer service and support.
Installation went smoothly

by:

Been in the truck for a year now with no issues. Keeps the truck and my 11,000 lb 5th wheel level and stable. Easy install too!

by:

I watched the installation video which was very good. The instructions that came with the product were also great. My 2019 Ram 2500 has very large tires and thank god my Son was here to help me. He did the heavy lifting. Installation went very smooth. The only problem was one of the nipples that screw into the bag leaked. I tried tightening it but that did not work. I ended up removing it and putting some yellow gas tape on it and reinstalled. It did not leak after that. I also installed a cigarette lighter in the bed of the truck and the inflation nipples nearby. I may install an inflation kit in the future but this manual method works for pulling my 5th wheel every month or so.

by:

Well it still sitting on my shop bench. I work on heavy duty on and off road construction equipment and know my way around equipment. I been hesitant about do this upgrade because previous kits looked cheap and lite duty. This kit is heavy and I fill confident it will hold up to hauling triaxle equipment trailers and my 45’ fifth wheel camper.

by:

etrailer has low prices and quick shipping! The Air Lift Loadlifter helper spring kit I purchased for my truck is an excellent product.

by:

2018 Dodge Ram 3500 dually 4 wheel drive with 6.7 Cummins.
My Fifth Wheel tongue weight was around 4500 pounds.
It would make my headlights at night blind people on road. And my steering wasn’t that great! After installing these Air Bags my lights and steering are so much better. Installing these air bags I did it myself on ground. No jacks truck on level ground. I put together everything. Then went under truck on my back. Mounted the top mount. Then I took strap and smash the air bag down to fit. After in place I took strap off. And bolted it all up. Took me 30 min. Per side. Very easy to install. Just basic hand tools needed. I buy a lot of stuff from etrailer they have the finest stuff at excellent prices. They have my business for life!

by:

It is a very good system, it has performed as expected. The compressor is a little loud, but it runs so little, it’s not a problem!

by:

Arrived as scheduled, all parts intact.

by:

Great product! Works as it should, Instructions could have been a bit more detailed.

by:

Definitely a heavy duty and easy kit to install. Like others have recommended, save yourself the aggravation and take the rear rims/tires off. Also, I used 1/4" expandable braided sleeve on the air lines for added protection against the outside elements. Lastly, if you have an after market exhaust you will need to buy bigger stainless hose clamps for the heat shield.

by:

When I enquired about shipping due date due to snow storm delays, my order was located and delivered so quickly.
Installed at Dodge dealership. And made hauling four horses over the same week safer and more comfortable for me!

by:

Nice kit. I got this one specifically because of the upper bracket. It prevents flex on the frame channel while under load. Good install instructions with pictures.

by:

I have a 2019 2500 Silverado with a duramax. Generally only used to pull our 13k fifth wheel or a dump trailer. The bags work excellent and the compressor continues to function as required. I am located outside Buffalo,ny so the harsh winters coupled with salt and other chemicals have not seemed to effect the function of the onboard compressor or air bags.
